Spring is here! Really? We had 5 inches of snow yesterday. Well, so what does one do when snowing outside when spring is promised but has not come to the Catskills? That’s right! I put my design for the front vegetable garden together. Planting will start around May 31st as I am in Zone 5 in theory, but I find it is closer to a Zone 4. Over the next few days, I’ll share the 3 plans I have underway. I would really welcome your feedback.
My first plan is for my front garden. The unique cedar fencing was designed by the Rustic Woodsman some 10 years ago. It is the only part of my garden that is fenced in and is about 25’x25’. Want to see the plan I have for my gardens? I found a handy tool at http://www.seedsavers.org. Click here to view my plan on their website. And, thanks for checking it out. It is full of wonderful “how to” videos and information. I use their Garden Planner service as the site “remembers” what I did last year and gives warnings if I am not doing sufficient crop rotation. Love this site! If you too are busy planning, please share your efforts.

This is what my front garden looked like in 2005. Here's what it looks like in full bloom in the summer.
